1-1 for the season so far

Cole started basketball in an 8 & under league at the local Y. He seems to be enjoying it...and we find it super entertaining. Cole wears Bobcats wristbands around his knees (?) and this sporty sweatband. I don't think those two kids are eyeing the ball - I think they're trying to figure out what is going on with his head. BTW, we cut the hair last night. Hopefully that eliminates the need for any sort of headgear at Saturday's game.

Hairy Thanksgiving

To cut or not to cut? The HSM attire would go nicely with a shaggy look...

'Who's the good team?'

Cole will root for any team as long as they're winning. We went to the Jazz/Bobcats game on Friday night...he rooted for Utah and thinks they won. I'm not going to correct him. What is that orange thing anyway?

Check out his fanware. The hat is a tribute to his fave movie team...the Eagles is a high school football team in the never popular 'Facing the Giants'. Again, we don't tell him that it's really an NC State Wolfpack cap.

Do you live in this neighborhood?

There was no trick-or-treating in our apartment building last night. We had to adopt a hood for the eve - which wasn't too hard b/c we've been scoping for potentials once we buy. So we ended up in a subdivision near where Cole plays baseball...nice houses semi-close together...perfect for the occasion. At the first
house on the block, no one was home...

We then passed some folks coming back from a street party and knew that trick-or-treating had commenced. We started for the next house and all was good in the hood.

At one doorway, the lady asked if we lived in the neighborhood. Uh, no. She claimed to be new and didn't know very many people, which is why she asked. Well...odd given she was the one hosting the party earlier. Happy Halloween witch...we didn't want your Snickers anyway. Guess we know where we won't be living!

who's your (grand)daddy?

MPHS Class of 2021

If we are still in Charlotte, Cole will (hopefully) graduate from Myers Park High School. There are these large rocks all over campus that they allow students (or those of us looking for fun on a Sunday afternoon) to spray paint. As you can see Cole not only plans to attend, he will be on the football team. Go Mustangs!

y'all seen my toofs?

Cole is definitely adjusting to living in the south. He lost 2 teeth last week and another this weekend (all bottom center). However, the 'tooth lady' (that's what he calls it) is not so impressed...the first two were never found.

Sucks to be a Firefighter

Cole has decided to be a fireman for Halloween this year. He wears the costume and watches firefighter movies all the time (Firehouse Dog is his fave - it's awful, but better than the AirBud movies that it replaced). He's much more creative than I could ever be - he decided that the vacuum attachment hose works well as a water hose.

Thanks Dad

Remember when we used to go to your office with you on the weekends in KC? We'd play for hours while you worked. For some reason, I miss those black JCPenney pens with the black eraser that wouldn't actually erase anything. It's probably not the pens, it's probably those Saturday afternoons...

The Aftermath

I think my 1/2 marathon career is over. Good thing I trashed the shoes right after. Great thing sandal season is coming to a close.

Tramps like us...

We did it! The four sisters and dad made it across the finish line at the Chicago half marathon, not necessarily in that order. I look much happier than I felt...definitely not born to run. Congrats dad.

We Wii

Wii are obsessed! The good news is I don't have to pick up toys anymore. The bad news is Cole doesn't ever want to leave the house...or put clothes on.

Class of 2021

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...I was born. 35 years later and 1000 miles east, Cole started school at Sharon Elementary in Charlotte, NC. Here he is on his first day...which brings the Schmitt family to their first blog...welcome to SchmittShow.
